Allo voice recording not working...

Switched over from a rooted Nexus 6P the other day to an LG V20. I like the device a lot, with one exception: the voice recording does not work in Allo. I looked it up and it seems this is a problem that other V20 users encounter but I haven't seen a solution. Basically, when I try to record, it says "can't load audio" or something like that (don't have my phone near me).

It's a huge annoyance for me as voice recordings are how me and my friends communicate on Allo almost 90% of the time, and nobody wants to read text when all they have to do is press play. Any solutions?

Mines works fine, I just tap & hold mic icon in the text box corner. Have you tried to do a clean reinstall for Allo? You could also bypass the in-app recording by using attachments. It's a little extra work, but that should work with with issues.
