I wanted an X:p, I put a deposit on an X:D. I heard that if you had an upgrade this calendar year you could get an early upgrade.
Well, they called me and told me that my X was in.
When I got there, they told me that I was not eligable for it. It seems that your contract must end in this calendar year, not just an upgrade.:(

Now I will have to wait for the Pro.:o

Yes this is the case, but if you find the right person to ***** to they will change it, that's what I did. My contract ends in 2011, but my upgrade is this year.

Yeah, just call 611 and talk to the right people. They'll get you your X :)

I've been able to do early upgrades on a few phones I've had. Usually they say you have to wait at least a year before you can do an early upgrade and if you do upgrade early, they charge you $30.00 to do so.

Plus, with their marketing and emails sent out to customers (to try to get them to upgrade) trying to shove the X down peoples throats (unnecessary IMO with such a great phone) I would just keep calling like the others said and they should be able to hook you up.

Good luck, get that X!

Prior to the DX release, I called twice trying to get a bumped up date since my phone wasn't eligible for an upgrade till 03-2011, but to no avail.

I used my brother's upgrade since he was eligible in July instead.

I don't know about the contract, but our contract didn't end until 2011 as well (now 2012 since did the early upgrade).

Verizon allows any account holder an annual upgrades at the 2 year price but without the NE2 discount. The downside is it resets the 2 year contract from that date which means two years before you can get the NE2 discount.

Only if you're on a 49.99 or higher plan. This doesn't include your data, insurance, vvm or texting plan, just your base plan.

There is only like one plan that doesn't meet that and would only save a person at most about 10 dollars a month. So save 10 dollars and work off a tightish budget and only be able to upgrade every 20 months. Or pay 10 give yourself some wiggle room and being able to save $300-$400 in upgrading a phone every year.

If you can't get the promo deal that has been floating around then try this... My problem was legit but it still worked. Had the WinMo Omnia I and I was having a ton of problems with it. I was unable to connect to the dial up broadband access (*773) so I was unable to get any email. I rely on email for work and without it I was dead in the water (I have 7 emails that dump to my phone). After calling several times to complain I got in touch with a supervisor and he pushed up my early upgrade date (I was eligible 8/10). I ordered my DX on 7/23 and got it yesterday. So if you want to get one and you want to be a tad unethical then tell them your current phone is not working and ask to be pushed up...
