So Im trying my best to dump my verizon galaxy nexus and come over to the GSM version. I got it in the mail today and I am in the process of trying to set things up.

I was hoping my primary prepaid would be tmobile and then I could use at&t daily as a back up when the tmobile service is not adequate (vermont mountains). So I active the at&t SIM but you dont get data with a prepaid $2 service with the galaxy nexus.

Is there any prepaid with a daily type of plan outside of at&t?

I am from NYC but I goto vermont in the winters and I dont trust tmobile in vermont on prepaid without roaming.

Thanks.

If you frequently need AT&T service, as in like more than a few times a month, then you should just consider going with Straight Talk, which runs on the AT&T network. It provides unlimited talk, text and data for $45/month. I realize that you'll have to take a bit of a hit in speeds vs. T-Mobile, but its just not economically viable to keep around a 2nd SIM and top it up every once and a while for a few days if you're expecting to use it regularly every month.

There are also a couple other prepaid carriers operating on AT&T, but Straight Talk is the best priced at the moment.

Yeah I am realizing this now. I really don't know wanna take the hit in speed. I am just hoping tmobile is covered enough when I go out of town.
