I have a Thai version here or so I guess. Got it 5 days ago and there was an update as soon as I turned it on. Screenshot_20190417_235225_com.huawei.android.hwouc.jpg

I thought, since late-March, it should have started showing app notifications icons for third-party apps?

EDIT: Turns out this is included in the 9.1.0.124 update. I have no updates for my P30 Pro (factory unlocked, UK) and I'm only running on 9.1.0.113, 18 days after the above article was posted. I hope I get it soon :(

I checked and got the 9.1.0.124 update on my P30 yesterday (19-4) CPW unlocked UK. Makes the AOD useful, particularly with no LED.

If the update is not showing OTA try the Hisuite windows app, seems to show up quicker on there.

It now matches how Galaxy phones have been for years.

However, my S8+ recently added the ability to show coloured app notification icons on the AOD. It was a really nice addition.

P30 Pro's AOD shows coloured app notification icons too.

I'm in the UK. Can't decide between one of the P30 phones and the S10 range

I'd say go for the P30 series, better cameras, performance, battery life, faster charging, better signal+extra features etc.

Don't the cameras have the orange skin problem though?

Can't notice any orange skin on mine. Even if it was there it's so subtle you won't be able to tell much difference. I haven't been able to skin colour looks natural to me.

Are the pixels noticeable on its 1080p panel? I'm very worried about that.

I see well close up, and find the pixels on the Pro a problem, one of the reasons I went for the P30, which is fine at 1080 at the smaller size. It will depend on your close up vision, so you need to compare both. The Pro should have been 1440 width. So far, my P30 is pretty much perfect apart from the flashing FPS, but the fix is coming in the May update.

Thanks. So you recommend the P30 then?

That's not true. I have a Messenger and WhatsApp notification icon on my AOD as we speak and both are white, instead of blue and green.

So I noticed something yesterday I had four notifications and they were white but when I get one notification it's in colour, maybe this is done to save battery life but you can definitely have them in colour when there are less notifications. Or maybe it's app specific.

Very specific, if it doesn't work with Facebook's Messenger nor WhatsApp :P
