So i just started using the AoD since the battery life on my S8+ has been so amazing.

However i have a persistent notification about a song that is in my google play music library.
I don't have the music app open, i haven't listened to it in at least 3 days. Is anyone else having this issue?

I also notice that when i'm on the lockscreen and i swipe the clock, it also shows the same song there on the music option.

No issue here. Have you rebooted your phone since or tried to force-close the Play Music app? The lockscreen does show the latest music player open, but in a 'paused' state (since I selected the music widget to show). You could try that, too... disabling the music widget on the lockscreen and see if that is what's keeping the notification there. The last player I used was Spotify, so that's what's in my widget now.

Ahh yah i took the facewidget off the lock screen for music and the notification on the AoD went away. Thanks!

Absolutely. The lock screen will show whatever current music app you're using. For example, I use Pandora, therefore in my AOD, it'll show my current Pandora playlist. It's really useful and very helpful for sure !

I am having the same issue as the original poster. I like the feature of having the music show on the AOD while I am listening/playing music. Can pause/advance track/etc using that. Great. However, when I am done listening/close out Play music or whatever app, it shouldn't show up on the AOD anymore. It's really just an annoyance. Last song I listened to pops up and takes a second or two, then the clock shows. I don't want to disable the widget, as I use it when I am actually playing music.

I don't have that issue with Spotify. It does show on the lockscreen widget, but if I'm not playing music and the app is not open, there's no AOD notification.

Settings/Lock Screen and Security/Always On Display/Content to Show/

Change it to Clock or Information

I am also experiencing this. Like other posters have said, it's really just an annoyance, but you spend so much for a device and you want it to be perfect. Unfortunately I have not found a fox for it. Hopefully the next update will fix it.

I also have been having this issue. It's not the widget u get when u swipe the clock, it's the actual notification. It usually won't go away until I restart the phone. It just shows info for whatever track I listened to last. I don't know if it's a phone issue or a Google music issue that needs to be addressed in a new update.

This is what you will see even after closing Google music. I may have stopped listening and closed the app hours ago and this will still show.

Your response tells how to remove the widget. We don't want that. The widget should not display once you exit the app. I had the same issue (last song played by Google play in the AOD), so started Pandora, played a few seconds, observed the current music on the AOD and then exited Pandora. Fixed, AOD no longer displays any music. I'd guess the issue is with Google play.

I thought this had the info I was looking for, but it doesn't. Similar to Jay I don't want to get rid of the controls I want it to work because I love it. I just need to know how to get it from being stuck on the last thing I listened to instead of what I'm currently listening to.
