Always on display

Hi all,

Had my pixel 6 pro for the first time today. is there a way to change the always on display? I'm sure with the pixel 3 that I had, wtej a message came through, that was visible on the always always on display,

Pixel 6 AOD sucks..lol. It can't be turned off. If I even LOOK at the phone the dumb thing lights up. If I walk around with phone in pocket it keeps turning on. If phone is on a table and I just TOUCH the table...the phone lights up. Not gonna return the phone, just gonna learn to live with it.
