When I first got the phone several weeks ago the battery expected full charge forecast was amazing--like 1 day 18 hours. The trend however is going down where like today it says it will be 1 day 1 hour. The battery page does say all is good and apps are using battery normally but wondering why the significant drop off in battery life forecast. Thoughts?

Wondering what your SOT has been. Using any other battery apps like GSam or accubattery?

The full charge forecast is a dynamic metric. It changes during the day as battery use changes. Post another screenshot in 8 hours and let's see what the number is at that time.

Also, as livetovaction60 said, make a note of your screen on time (SOT) just before you put it on the charger. Do this for a couple of days. Maybe the past two or three days you made heavy use of your phone (or heavier use than last week's use) and the full charge forecast is reflecting that recent additional use.

(Can't post this without adding that I avoid charging to 100% because I believe it prematurely wears out the battery. But that's a subject for another thread, maybe the battery endurance thread...)

Have you been using the phone pretty intensively? As mentioned before, the phone will learn how you use your phone and change the battery life estimate based on that. Also, other factors might figure into it -- for example, if you were using your phone in an area of poor cell signal (which chews up battery), it might be taking that into account.

You know you're bringing up a good point about that I've been in an area with fairly poor cell quality I remember previous phones that really eats at the battery thanks for the reminder

No battery apps and averaging 4-5 hours SOT
I've only had my 5a since Saturday. Currently I'm at 50% with almost 4 hours of SOT. I pretty much use it for social media, news, football pools and a few videos. Most of my notifications are turned off and I keep my screen brightness at around 80% indoors. I do not have Adaptive Battery turned on because I hear various things on how effective or ineffective it might be. Wouldn't mind talking more about that.

Google has updated (on the 28th) and fixed the 'Carrier Services app' baddery drain. After updating, my baddery is back to amazing. Over the last 24 hours, 'Carrier Services' has only used 2%, instead of pre update, when it was using around 36 - 42% on average over a 24 period - which is nuts!

Worth a go!
