Am I safe to say that Verizon won't give us 5.1.1?

Um... and people complaining about verizon continue to buy their branded phones and stay with them because......?

Verizon cellular service is actually very good. #VZWWin. Specifically - waiting on this update knowing that the Note 4 (flagship phone) is now 2 software updates behind. #VZWFail

Hand down Verizon is the worst carrier to provide any update. This not only applies to Android device but with Windows devices too. Either way, we stick with them because of their implacable service and a wide coverage area. I've considered leaving Verizon for AT&T, but end up sticking around, because their customer service is awesome. It does make me angry to wait this long for an update. But Verizon is so big, they can care less about how we feel. They lose money from having to deal with pushing out an update that may potentially break phones and having to repair and replace these phones. I remember once upon a time, I was a cellphone rep for multiple different carriers. You'll be surprise how many people try to work the system and how many cases of broken devices are due to updates. This sheer reason is why I think Verizon takes their time testing and verifying updates are ready to be pushed out.

In regards to quality of service, Verizon is impeccable and you get what you pay for each month. But this is the price you pay if you go the Android route. Even the nexus 6 on Verizon doesn't get updates on a timely manner. That's why you get an iPhone on Verizon, or go with an unlocked nexus device.

Very well said ... just wish the updates would come faster ... our at least show their users as much support as we give Verizon.

They better not remove anything features wise for their bs bloatware

I really think that Google or even the FCC should make a rule that carriers can't preinstall apps without the users consent.

AT&T is becoming like Verizon. I switched to T-Mobile and I have great coverage, we have 4 times more data, bought 5 phones and 4 are high end devices, higher speeds and our bill is still lower than our AT&T bill was. It will be a lot lower as soon as the devices are paid off.

Also AT&T is extremely slow to release updates and remove features. I've gotten about 4 updates on my Note 5 and TMO isn't removing features.

If you have TMO in your area, might want to check it..

Good to know. Although Verizon is very good in rural areas.

I think maybe, Verizon is more interested in selling more new model phones figuring, people won't buy as many new ones if they update the older models. :)
