I bought our 1st Moto X at full price with a Hint for $710

Then in less then 30 days the price drops with Cyber Monday discount for $140 less and Motorola could care less?

Plus $50-100 off current buyers not using Cyber Monday codes that expired.

Its a good phone and we are coming from 1st gen Moto X. Terrible Customer experience Motorola penalizing early adopters..

I guess the lesson learned is if they come out with a 3rd gen we buy after the 30 day price drop as its happen with both versions!

This happens with every phone, computer and electronics device on the planet earth!

Furniture? Even worse! Automobile? Same!

Everything gets a price cut or a sale at some point.. If you can wait and don't need to buy right away then a quick look at the calendar can usually give some insight into when a future sale may occur..

Sorry, but I don't see why you are angry with Moto..

This is the norm and should be expected. Sorry you were surprised by this. Merry Christmas!

Early adopters always pay the higher price. Its always been that way. Its the reason I'm not trying to get an Xbox one until the price drops. Paid full price for my Gear Live, Nexus 7, other stuff. Part of the life of wanting the latest and greatest.

Not sure where you 3 are shopping but everyone has a 30 day price guarantee, Best Buy, Apple, Amazon etc..its what makes customer "stick" and come back because they have faith and trust in the company.

Most credit cards also have a 30 day price match. Had I paid with Amex they would have covered it or Visa didnt have that coverage.

You take care of early adopters because they generate the buzz for the product.

2007 Apple did it and to make it up Jobs offered credit back it was a 14 day window vs 30 but same concept..

Guess that is why Apple stock is much higher then Motorola.

I'm confused... Were you lied to or mislead by Moto? Were you told at the time of purchase you'd have 30, or 60, or 90, or 180, or 365 days to price match? If you were then I'm on your side.

If you were not then the blame is all your's because everyone on the planet knew black friday and cyber monday sales were on the horizon...

The exact same thing happened with the 2013 Moto X, so the pattern was already there. I chose not to wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, knowing full well the price would drop by then. I didn't want to wait, so I paid full price and have no regrets. If you want to be first in line to get it, then you have to pay more. And Apple can do whatever they want - I still don't want an iPhone, even if it's free.

I agree 100% with this. I, on the other hand, waited until Cyber Monday because I knew there was a chance they'd do the price drop, and I purchased 2 of them then.

I paid $500 for my Xbox One. Now I can get it for $350. Am I pissed? Nope. And why? I got a year's worth of gaming from it. Therein lies the pro and con of being an early adopter. I bought the Moto X full price, returned when I heard about Cyber Monday, and reordered with the promo. Had I been outside of the return period, would I be pissed? Nope. Because I don't feel entitlement towards a promotion. It's like pouting that you didn't receive the Christmas gift you wanted. The phone is definitely worth the original asking price of $500, which is a small price for a high end phone in the first place.

I had a feeling that Motorola was going to offer the Cyber Monday promo this year like last year. Although I couldn't wait to get the new Moto X when it came out and sell my Nexus 5, my practical side told me to wait for Cyber Monday. There are a lot of other things that I can buy with $140.

With the exception of Apple, those companies you listed are retailers, not manufacturers.

Samsung? No 30 day price guarantee.
HTC? No 30 day price guarantee.
LG? No 30 day price guarantee.
Sony? They do offer a general 30 day price guarantee, but guess what? Phones are specifically excluded.

So why would Motorola do so? Yes, it would be a nice perk, but expecting them to do so when no other major Android phone manufacturer offers it will only lead to disappointment. If this kind of guarantee is that important to you, then you need to do your research before making your purchase instead of just assuming one is offered.

I was going to comment on the OP's Apple link but decided not to at 1st.. The link is very misleading! Apple did not refund users based on a sale or a promotion price (which is what the OP wants Moto to do) they refunded them based on a permanent price drop.

There is a HUGE difference between a sale / promotion and a permanent price drop. Also the article posted is from -------> 2007! Yeah, 2007... LOL

But guess what? Moto does offer a 30-day return if you live in California...

This is just dumb. It's people like this that feel entitled and expect every benefit as oppose to being accountable to the decision they made. Yea, it's moto's fault that you chose to buy early and didn't get a discount...get over yourself. this is also what's wrong with more and more people in the us with zero accountability for their decisions, but I digress.

You get two choices with ANY technology:

1. Be the first
2. Get the cheapest price

You cannot get both in most cases. There's a price for being an early adopter.

I'd say you are the only one that is mad.

You should have waited to see if there would be a sale. Plain and simple.

Had you asked Motorola, or even bothered to read the terms of the Cyber Monday offer, you would have discovered that having a promo code would have gotten you $140 back.

If stuff like this is going to get you bent.... man... you're in for a long life of disappointment. :)

Heh, right now on Verizon you can get the Note 4 for $149 on contract. Was and most likely will be $299 again after the holidays. Plus a $150 bill credit. That's just how things work.

So you buy an electronic device 30 days before Black Friday and Cyber Monday?? Two widely known dates for killer deals on ELECTRONIC DEVICES?? Right before the Holidays where there are deals everywhere??
Seems like youve just made a bad judjement call..
