I installed the latest ICS leak, the .10 version, and I gotta say, the battery life is beyond horrible. I never thought my rezound had good battery life, but this is downright unusable. 4-5 tops? I got at least 10 before on the standard battery. I bought the extended because I was well aware it was not great on juice, but this is ridiculous. I hope the official fixes this or another leak comes along like with the Razr Maxx to address this.

Just a side note, on GB and earlier versions, there was a setting for always on mobile data. By unchecking that box, it greatly improved the battery life. I'm not seeing that option on ICS. Am I missing something? Could this be the reason drastic difference I am seeing?

check ALL of you settings. Especially your sync settings and make sure that everything is as you had it in gb. May ppl forget to do this. You are essentially stating with a new phone and have to make sure all the things are turned off that you want off and such.

That's also good advice.....some of the default sync schedules can be excessive.

When checking the apps using the most juice also make sure to check, using the drop down menu, which apps are waking your phone the most and the time they are keeping your phone awake.

Give it 3-4 full charge cycles. When ever you start from scratch, be it a new rom or loading an RUU, it takes a few charge cycles for the OS to optimize itself to the way you use it.

I too recently flashed the leak and did not even think about all the settings I had tweaked. Everything was syncing, screen coming on for every text etc. It took a few days to get most things back to where they where. I say most because I'm sure there is something I have forgotten which will rear its ugly head at some point. Off topic I would like to say a feature I really like with the leak is the dropping apps on each other to create folders, very nice.

I've been on that leak for about a week now (got tired of waiting) and I have not seen a decrease in battery life even though I was monitoring it very closely for it. One of the first things I did after installing it was check the syncing schedules, adjusted screen brightness and also disabled the Verizon bloat. I can honestly say that the leak has not shortened battery life and in functionality and aesthetics it's head and shoulders above GB, imho :)

One more thing: when I was on GB I had the phone set to 3G only (to save power). Since installing the leak I've let it run on 4G and I'm still getting the same battery life as before. Go figure!!

I installed the app above, I've tried to tweak my settings. I've stopped most things from syncing, but I can hold the phone in my hand and watch the batter meter tick off a percentage at a time at an unbelievably fast rate. Even the app tells me average life 5 hours.

Clearly something is not right. I'm still searching for that data always on check box that used to be on GB and every other version.

Something is very wonky with your phone then... I assume you have rebooted it at least once. Have you tried a reinstall?

No I have not. I always try other solutions first, because reinstalling and restoring is a PIA. It usually takes more time than I have, but it's worth a shot. Yes, I reboot daily. It does run rather hot compared to GB, although I always felt this phone runs hot.

I did do the RUU twice, but I will be honest, the first install of the RUU went sooooo much faster than the second and the phone shut itself off afterward the first run of the RUU.

Can you run the RUU again without problems? I ask because on the Dinc, the golden rule was never flash a radio file twice.

You have to flash this twice or issues could come up. Battery life for me is a solid 10 to 12 hours and I pound it pretty good

I know that, but I'm asking now that I've done it, can I do it again?

Say this is an issue to not running it correctly, do I go ahead and run the RUU twice again without fear of a problem.

at this point I would pretend it never happened and going, wipe, wipe, wipe, wipe then flash 2 times. Three if you want. THere is no limitation on this phone that you had before.

You know, wipe is not something I did before the RUU. I thought the RUU wiped everything. This could be it, but today it definitely was better. Still no where near it was before, but better than yesterday.
