Am I upgrade eligible? Sprint CC telling me otherwise...

So I call Sprint using my Pre... *2, right?

Anyway, I call twice to see if I'm eligible for an upgrade. I thought I was and I would pay only $200 for the Evo.

My family has been on Sprint for 8-10 years.
2 Pre's, a blackberry, and a regular flip phone.
We have everything data for the whole family.

Talked with 2 Customer Care Reps:
1. First guy said that it's going to cost $275.00 / Evo after the $100.00 rebate.
2. Second lady told me that it's going to cost $200, but only the main line (my dad's line) gets to upgrade.

Who's right?
Please tell me it only costs $200 per Evo and that all of us get to upgrade.

And I might as well ask here... If we were to pre-order from Radioshack (if our shack has it) then activation occurs right then and there, right? There's no extra activation fee at Sprint or anything? So basically a free $20.00 giftcard for Shack accessories?

Thanks, I searched... and nobody discussed this and I keep hearing different things.

To my understanding the Sprint Premier Full upgrade every year deal only applies to the Primary Line.

I have 4 Phones on a Family Plan. I am a Sprint Premier Customer. This allows me to upgrade my Primary Line (my Phone) Every year. All Other phone must wait the 2 yrs to get the 150 Upgrade rate.

Now with that said. I have heard people that have multiple phones and as long as 1 of them is eligible for the upgrade, then you can purchase it on that number and then when it's all said and done, you can swap phones around later by calling customer service to get the phone on the number you want.

Personally I have never done this, this is something I just read. Not sure if it would work or not, but if you want to take the risk, go for it.

Wow this sucks... I really wanted a new phone.
It already costs more for us because it's $10.00/month per Evo... so it was going to add $30.00/month anyway cause 3 of us want to upgrade.

that's not true. i have two lines and both are eligible for upgrades. I had Pres on both lines.

Best Buy Mobile told me that I had upgrade eligibility today... as well as the 3 other lines.

I think we'll go to Sprint and play dumb and ask for 3 Evo's and see what happens.

I am not a pro at this, but I am fairly sure I am correct...

If you are under a family plan, I believe only the primary line will be eligible for the full upgrade after 12 months. Every other line will need to wait 22 months. Considering you have 2 Pre's, it seems at least 1 of those lines will not be eligible.

Any line eligible for the full upgrade will get the Evo for $200 after the rebate. If they are not eligible, you will need to pay the full price of the phone (minus $75 if they are 1 year into the contract).

I am pretty sure that the first guy is completely off. If you talk to CS and say you will renew everyone's phones, they'll probably work something out where you just pay $200 a phone. Give it a shot.

As for activation fees, you may need to pay some if you are not the premiere line. I'm a little more fuzzy in this area.

This is really simple to check. Log into your sprint account on sprint.com and check your account. It will list all your lines individually and you can check when each phone's contract began and ends.

On my dad's account and mine account... both say next year.
Weird... why did best buy mobile say I could upgrade and pay only $200?

I'm really going to have to try and weed my way into getting full upgrade eligibilities on all lines.

when you go to sprint and log in, you will see pictures of the phones on your plan. if the phone is eligible for an upgrade, there will be an exclamination point next to it. click on it and it will tell you the rebate you are eligible for.

My Upgrade Situation

I have 2 lines with Sprint. I am a premier member and up for my 12 month upgrade this month. My primary line gets the $150 upgrade and my second line gets the $75 upgrade. Unfortunately my wifes phone is the primary. But Ive been reading on the forums and also confirmed today by a Sprint rep, that I can purchase the phone on her line and then activate it on mine. Hope this helps.

Well, I guess I'll have to pay an extra $75.00 for this phone. =/
Thanks everyone.

I'll still try to talk with a Sprint Rep and see if I can get it with the full $150.00 off.
... might have to play dumb at the Sprint store.

If you are only eligible for the 1 year upgrade($75) you will be paying $375 for the phone at a Sprint store. You will not be eligible for the $100 MIR. Sorry.

It's funny cause the Sprint site tells me yes in one area then no in an other but the BB site says yes all the time. I'll leave it up to chance and go to BB and see what happens.

Oh dear...

Will I get any luck at BB mobile or Radioshack?
This... isn't fun. Why would it only be available for the major line on the account?

I can't live with my Palm Pre for another year...
I use the phone the most in my family. i wish there was a way that my dad and I could both upgrade for a reasonable price.
