Amazed by the battery...

Just what the hell is letting you guys get 5+ hours of on screen time more than my M7 lol. I hope that Sense 6 has a lot to do with this.

I'm sure Sense has some to do with it but the real improvement is the snapdragon 801. That thing is extremely power efficient. I'm coming from an m7 and this phone is in another league in every single area. Worth every penny.

Lol I usually get around 36 hours, and I don't really have to turn anything down or off to get it. My screen is at a little more than half brightness, so it's not like I've turned it down aggressively, and it's at a perfect brightness where I can read it great indoors, it's good enough to see most everything in sunlight, and it doesn't blind me if I'm in a completely dark room. I don't have auto-update apps or auto-upload photos or anything like that, but I have auto-sync on and back up settings and everything. I also have location on, just scanning and not GPS. My One likes to wake up a lot at random times when I'm not using it, but it doesn't seem to impact the battery at all, and there isn't much of a difference between the battery drain of when I use it and when it's just on standby. For example, I have the Verizon One, and I just updated to the newest software that came out today. Downloading AND installing the update consumed 4% of the battery. Pretty sure when I updated my Thunderbolt to ICS it took like 40% just to install haha.

My screen on time is terrible can anyone help me

Can you show us a GSAM screenshot, My battery is not as great as yours, but its doable. I will post my GSAM once on 1%, so we can compare since we're both on Verizon.

I can in a few days. I just installed GSam, but I'm already at 55%, and it doesn't have the 45% I've already used. I was gonna go out and take photos for the contest later tonight, so I'll try to run it down so I can start from 100% late tonight or tomorrow morning.

i recently upgraded from a iphone 5 to the htc one m8,and i have been completely blown away by the great battery life,it easily beats my iphone 5,i can easily go past 24 hours without needing to charge my htc oneScreenshot_2014-04-20-00-07-37.jpg

Here's my GSAM stats. Like i said, not amazing but doable. I wanna know how to get more outta the screen time.

I'm still sitting here waiting for mine to die haha like I'm literally just leaving it's screen on trying to make it go down. Around 20 minutes of on screen time for me took 2%, so an hour is 6%. I'm at 10% right now, so I'll be able to show something soon...sorta soon lol.

But your screen on average (7hr 21m) seems on par with everyone elses. Plus, it says you started the count down from 87% not 100%.
Try force closing all apps (especially games) that you're not using.

Is your screen on the highest brightness setting? Is battery saver on?

I finally got tired of waiting for this thing to die haha. I started using GSam at 55%. The graph shows Wi-Fi is always on, but that's because it includes Wi-Fi scanning for location; you can see in GSam that I wasn't actually on Wi-Fi the whole time. Since I installed GSam halfway through, I'd say my total onscreen time is probably closer to 4 hours. With 7% left, I could probably have gotten a couple more hours out of it too. My total time ended up being 46 hours.

Brightness is on auto and no battery saver mode on Verizon model. But auto sync is off and so others like new, bluetooth.

Wow that's amazing! Idk what it is that I have on that seems to be giving me less screen time. But I'll try to figure it out and let you know what it happens to be. Thanks for your info.

It could be auto brightness. It's more efficient than just keeping it at max brightness, but if you're always somewhere where it's being pumped up, it's not all that different. It could be the screen timeout too if you just let the screen turn off by itself. Mine's at like 30 seconds, but I don't let it sit doing nothing for that long, I always turn it off when I'm not using it so it might as well be zero.

That's some awesome battery probably gonna return mine and replace it with a new cause i only get 3 hours of screen time and 15 hours usage. :(

Very, very impressed by the battery life on the M8. Definitely not something to worry about on this phone. Kudos to HTC for making it so easy get through a day no matter what I throw at it.

I would take it off auto brightness and manually set it. Mine is set about 70%

Yup, it's definitely possible. Here's a screenshot from a couple of days ago. I didn't have power saving mode on, but I have things like sync and location settings turned off.

My phone sucks on battery. I've had to charge it twice today.I've Turned off location, got rid of some apps as in bleacher report, turned down the brightness. I can't figure out what else to do.
