Front page links are no good because the free app they display changes according to the day you view it on.

I was gonna mock you for this response but instead Im just going to tell you I was going to mock you.
It has been my experience that people are quick to mock, when their efforts would be better spent trying to understand each other.
I will share my perspective with you, and perhaps you will then understand why I made that post.
Prior to the post I responded to, you had always linked directly to the free app. This provided people with a way to quickly access the free app from this thread, as well as recording previous free apps for inquiring minds.
However, on 04-08-2011, instead of linking directly to the free app, you provided a link to the front page of the AppStore. You provided no additional text to indicate that this was intentional, or even what the free app of the day was. You then resumed your usual behavior; every subsequent post by you links directly to the free app.
By linking to the front page of the AppStore, the link to that day's free app is not preserved on subsequent days.
By also not providing text to indicate what the free app was, those who visit this thread on later days will have no way of knowing what the free app was.
But it seems you did that intentionally. That's fine. But perhaps you can understand why I find that confusing.

I said you dont have to read every single post.
Therefore meaning if you dont want to see this thread its quite possible to just ignore it. I do it daily when reading posts here. I come to the sub-forum that interests me and read the threads I find interesting. Others I mark as read.
Your OP you stated a opinion I think was to try and get a reaction but you werent prepared to be told to not read. I think You wanted more insults and/or name calling. However I seen the bait and only told you to unplug because you failed to get the desired response.
And you know on the front page of the amazon app store it lists the previous days apps?
I can see how somebody might have been confused. But again the link took them to the front page and they could have seen what the app was. Further more if you read this whole thread you will see the original post has been edited by a mod with a link to the wrong app listed. So your theroy of preserving apps for people to see at a later date is moot.
Your 500 word essay to explain yourself could have been sumarized in a single picture.

This implies there is a limit to how far back it will go. This thread does not share that limitation.
It also provides redundancy, which is useful in the event that Amazon decides to remove that information from their website.
Because you listed the app name in that post, the correct app of the day was preserved, notwithstanding the incorrect link.
Your responses used to foster intelligent discussion. Lately, you've been resorting to insults. I miss the old Eollie.
I respond to posts on the same level they are presented. The original post was akin to insulting, I WAS insulted that somebody would post a app I missed then turn around the next post and try to berate the entire thread.
See the poster posted the app of the day, which I was going to thank him for, the insulted the thread. The subsequent poster Then tried to pull the whole "big businesses are evol and your just a pawn for them" argument. Which I took even more offense seeing as how I only started this because I thought the people here might enjoy being able to look at one place instead of having to check the phone app or website store daily. Not everybody visits amazon daily. I know I normally wouldn't. However I do check the daily app because I like to help out OUR community of V users.

Unfortunately, if everyone used this yardstick in their conversation, one imagined insult could lead to all civility being cast away, with each side placing blame on the other for starting the mess.

Actually, that's a primary reason for why I responded to the post that linked to the front page of the Amazon Appstore with no additional text; it did not accomplish what you just described.

Denshigomi wow I totally over looked that. I guess my mind was not comprehending the differences. I stand corrected and apologize to xabbott for including him in this mess.
You have a point here. Although in most cases the person I respond to gets the hint.
Its apparent that I took your response out of context. For that I apologize. I suppose I was irked off by the other response still and wasnt reading in a neutral sense.

It might be a opinion but no body said hey you have to read every thread that pops up on AC. In fact you could have ignored it totally. Instead you posted a opinion that you knew would get a response. When the desired response want received and instead you were mocked you tried to claim something else.
