As many of you know Amazon gives away a free app everyday.
Some are more useful than others but they all are the full paid versions.
I will try to keep up with them each day.
Please lets not clutter this thread with chit chat.

Shazam Encore.

Love that tune you're hearing in the car or restaurant? Use Shazam to identify the song in moments! Shazam will quickly become invaluable for "tagging" songs at parties, in restaurants and night clubs, or even on the street. This premium version of Shazam offers even more than the free version. With unlimited usage, plus all of Shazam's core features, Shazam Encore gives you the ultimate music journey experience.

Angry Birds Rio? It's not in the app store but it's on this Amazon app store? Why?

Rovio made a deal with amazon to release it there.
You can also get a ad free angry birds on amazon for 99cents.

If you install a custom ROM (and thus have to wipe your phone), can you redownload all the free paid apps you previously "purchased"/downloaded?

Yes, once you reinstall the Amazon app they will show up in your "my apps" when you log in.

Eollie, are you getting paid to promote this? You should probably remove the referral code in your links. I'm not 100% sure but most forums frown upon being used as free advertisement. This thread is about the Optimus V. It seems like a strange place to randomly list Amazon apps.

referal links? I just copy paste from amazon when I check.

maybe its because im logged in or something.
To get technical, this thread is about the free apps from amazon.
It happens to be in the Optimus V subforum.
Im only doing this for people that might not check daily and could miss out on a awesome app.

Kinda like when they had shazam as the free daily app.

Liking swiftkey so far. For a guy who appears to be typing with his tits this is a great thing :)

I fixed your link. It now a standard link rather than a referral link. Members are not allowed to linkback to sites for profit. Android Central's forum is great resource for help and information. It is a place for people have discuss topics and debate. This forum is not designed for people to make a profit at AC's expense.

This is not saying that Eollie used a referral link intentionally. I try to never accuse people of things without crystal clear evidence and neither should anybody else. If it was an accident, please logout of your account before linking to the app in future. You can even use another browser that you have not logged into on. Like I said, this is not directed at anybody specifically. It is more of a way to inform others about this rule and that it must be followed.

oh and back to the main topic. I hate that I bought swift key months back. I don't even use it. I should have waited to find out I didn't like it.

This free paid app of the day is a major hook for amazon.

Thanks Brett!
Ya I didnt know it did a referal when I linked it while logged into amazon.
Sorry bout that.

There has been a couple apps pop up that Im waiting to see if they get added to the freebie list first lol.

I see nothing different in these links now as I did when mmarz acussed me of referral linking.

The reason its showing up as a referral link is because well technically it is. Only its not my referral link its how amazon knows to give you the app for free or not.

I just logged out and for swift key I was getting the same link no matter what.

I noticed today that Shazam is listed under free apps now, but was the first listed Free App of the Day. In the Android App Store, there are three listings for Shazam, a free one with 5 a tag limit, a paid one with unlimited tags, and a shortcut tool that cuts out the loading screen so you can do a quick tag. So far it appears as if the Amazon version is the unlimited one.

Hard to tell which direction developers are going with the Amazon App Store, and apps in general at this point. With in app purchases an inevitability, together with in app advertisments, I can't see selling the apps themselves as a viable model much longer.

...SO I clicked on the link for shazam..........

Why did you edit a link for one app and change it to another?
If I catch slack for this...Ill have to accept it.

Please if your going to edit peoples post to remove offensive and/or things that are out of forum guidelines, please have a clue what your doing.
Now my post about shazam has the link to swiftkey.
Seriously wtf?
No really..how can you click a link that takes you to one app and end up changing it to another totally different app? AND on top of that fail to remove a so called referral link.

I just went to the amazon.com/appstore site via my phone, my laptop and the other machine in my house. all of which I have never visited amazon from and they all have that ref= mumbo jumbo. Yes if you remove it it will still goto the proper app, so that isnt a issue. But please get the facts right before accusing people.

I don't use their appstore because their app must be on your phone for the downloaded apps to run. On top of it, their app wants to run all the time...
