Amazon Fire TV Stick vs Google Chrome Cast

Amazon just launched the Amazon Fire TV Stick to compete with Google Chrome cast, so far I will stick with my Chrome Cast happy with it!
What do you think of the Amazon Fire TV Stick?

I have no problem with Chrome Cast so far so why switch?

My chromecasts have always worked flawlessly. I'd like to hear from people who own both and their thoughts on pros/cons of each.

I grabbed one at $19. Nothing wrong with my chromecast... Just don't like using my phone as a remote. I tend to fall asleep to Netflix.. Would rather be fumbling around for a remote than my phone in the wee hours! Lol

Both are good, if your a prime member though it is nice to have easy access to prime video & prime audio on your TV without using your phone

Also being WiFi ac compliant is a plus

I have both. I got the stick for $19. I do like having a remote, but honestly, the Chromecast worked better straight out of the box. I like having Netflix and Hulu as part of the app, and I use Amazon's cloud to back up photos, so that's nice, too.

However, when I tried to watch my first Prime movie, it paused every couple of minutes. I started the same movie from the computer and casted it via the Chromecast with no pausing. Called Amazon, and after a router reboot, it appeared to be working without pause. I guess time will tell.

I'll use both my Chromecast and the Fire stick.

Amazon streaming makes it worth it to keep both, more selection is always good. I find myself checking to see if a movie is free on Netflix or Amazon Prime, if not I can compare prices from Amazon or Play...

sadly, I'm deciding between a XBone or a ps4 and neither of them support amazing streaming.

it's almost as if amazon doesn't want people to even use it.

After a week with the fire stick, for me at least, my chromecast is not getting used - fire stick new apps everyday its a great product like a Chromecast on steroids - no phone needed! has all the functions of the Chromecast plus many more with a phone or without

I only have a Chromecast and would have got Amazon Prime with the three orders I made this week but since Amazon won't support Chromecast I'm not got to buy Amazon Prime in protest. Fact is I have been getting a lot more stuff from Ebay since Amazon refuses to support Chromecast. Amazon's loss.

TBH, i have never bought an "amazon branded" product. Their entire ecosystem is too "crippled" Reminiscent of Apple.

Plus some of their branded stuff is more expensive than the nonbranded stuff: usb cables and hdmi cables

I like the fire stick due the fact you can download apps to it. No phone needed. In my opinion amazon fire stick is better.
