Amazon MP3 Store not available for Incredible?

While I'd like to be able to purchase amazon mp3 albums to my phone, I have no problem purchasing them on my PC and then transferring them to my phone's microSD card.

Okay, I'm new to this apk thing. Do I download this apk zip file with my incredible? Then where do I find the file? and what do I do to install it on my android device? Detailed instructions would be very helpful. Thank you.

Yeah, I figured it out on my own, and it works great.

Are you trying to re-install? I tried that and it bombed out. Try uninstalling what ever you have on there already and then try again from scratch.

Also, load the file onto the sd card, then use something like AndroZip to see the files on the card and then click on the apk and Install. Make sure you can install from Unverified Sources.

Let us know if that helps,

That worked! I had to download the file manager to get it to work - clicking on it from my "Downloads" page didn't work. AndroZip worked beautifully. Thanks!

Amazon MP3 app

I know this should probably go in the Apps forum, but it seems to be a DInc only problem.

I cannot find a working copy of the Amazon MP3 .apk anywhere.

I used this app and loved in on my Eris and would love to be able to have it on my DInc.

I googled and searched but nothing I find seems to work

Any help?

I'm just curious.

If you used the app, it would store the purchased MP3's on your phone? If something happened to your phone, wouldn't you lose them? They would not be re-downloadable again right?

I always purchase my songs from Amazon MP3 on my main desktop where I can then store them. It is easy to then move copies to whatever device, CD etc... from there.

This way, I can't lose them if one device gets damaged.

Workstation has regular backups and the files are actually stored on a NAS.

Ok. If I download a song to my phone I can then transfer it to my computer when I got home or whatever so I can put it on ipod or cd? Would the sound quality be the same as if I just downloaded from the computer instead of my phone? Just wondered about these things before I make a purchase. Thanks.

How is it that every link I've clicked on in this thread sends me to a screen that says no specified thread. I loved Amazon MP3 on my moto droid and I would love the option of having it on my Incredible...
