Amazon no longer supporting preinstalled amazon app. How can I delete?

I have a Samsung galaxy note 5 and I am on the at&t network. Unfortunately amazon decided to no longer support the app and released a new version. I know I can force drop and disable but I am looking to free up the space on my phone.
