Never having bought videos before from them on a tablet - will there be a difference in video quality between the two? If you try to buy something in HD it warns you that it will not play in HD on this tablet - which I get. But will it look any better?

Anyone know the approximate file size difference?

Update on this: browsing through the Kindle Fire - Video portion the HD option for Nova didn't even show up. I'm going to try to get to it another way within the next day or two and see.

I downloaded a couple of tv episodes in SD - they look pretty good. 45 minute show takes up @ 200MB in SD.

Downloaded another episode in HD. Appears to be moderately better but not a ton better. Still 200MB for a 45 minute episode.

No, episodes browsed/purchased through the Amazon store on the Fire, downloaded to the Fire.

I wish I knew the video settings though so I could rip my DVDs in the same resolution - the one I'm using now gets a 2 hour movie to 1GB which is still pretty big file size.

Interesting... when I looked for a program I knew was in HD (Nova, above) - I only came across the SD version. I'll have to play around with this a bit more.

It may only come up in SD as far as the listing goes but click the link near where it says "More Purchase Options" - or something like that. Two choices *should* come up and one will be the HD version. Not 100% sure though for that particular program.
