ok..so I have a conumdrum.

google play movies and tv.

or..

amazon prime video.

which app is better?

eg which one delivers better quality video, smoother playback, smaller file size etc?

In my experience, the Google Play Movies app is slightly better than Prime Video. When I start a move on Prime Video, it seems to stay lower resolution for a little longer than on Google Play Movies (but this is only a matter of several seconds).

Also they have different offerings. Google play is only rent or buy. Amazon Prime Video has media available for free if you are a prime subscriber.

I'm asking cause if the quality is identical or similar enough to not be apparent..then I can shelve my plans to buy a bigger memory card for my tablet(phone would get the card currently in said tablet) cause the file size of say, the martian(extended edition) is smaller on amazon vs play movies.

I just need sound advice on that is all.

I don't have any exact numbers, but I've never noticed a significant difference in overall quality between Prime Video and Google Play Movies.

That's what I'm saying, but keep in mind that I'm not watching these movies on a big 4K screen or anything like that.

Play close attention to if the movie you bought or rented is SD or HD/4K.
