AMOLED, or SLCD..

+1 for tipping him off. There's still time for him to cover his tracks since no other site seems to have picked up the story.
-1 for being a d-bag about it.

Not trying to be a d-bag, honestly trying to let him know whats gonna happen now. And there is no way to cover his tracks- I know what really goes down, and corporate has entire department dedicated to doing exactly this. They have people who patrol these sites every single day to catch people. And besides, the pic is still there. So they have his last name, and his face is on his avatar. That's more than they need.

I don't understand the motivation behind that post. Give a heads up, unless you're planning to snitch.

Mike, Dave, you guys are alright.. ;)

Not a snitch, not at all. Just letting you know, start filling out apps..

Nice first post...

First post on this site. Actually registered just to give him the heads-up. But you've definitely seen my work before- you'd actually be surprised at how much of my work AC has grabbed from other sites and posted..

Good find. I have a first release phone and the speaker went out. I was wondering what I would get if I swap it out. Looks like they will replace it with the AMOLED if that's what you already have.

Surprised nobody has linked this yet.

Spot the difference: HTC Desire's SLCD versus AMOLED -- Engadget

Engadget's conclusion: pretty close on visuals, but the AMOLED screen is actually easier on the battery (recall, HTC said that SLCD should bring improved power efficiency). Good lord, I can only imagine what that would mean for an SLCD-equipped Dinc!

If you've been toying with whether you need a warranty replacement, get it started now, folks!

Wait... So the new boot animation with 2.2 is now going to be shenanigans... AMOLED scrolls across the page... I'm gonna buy a new DINC after the switch and sue Verizon for false advertising... ;)

LOL, I'm willing to bet they change the boot animation for the newer ones when they change the screen.

For me, the AMOLED screen is one of the main reasons I purchased the Incredible. It definitely wasn't for the HTC name. I think that HTC has a horrible habit of installing batteries that aren't enough for the phones they make.

I can get a full day of battery out of my D2 with regular use, while I'm lucky if I get 14 hours out of my Incredible for the same amount of use.

I watched mine three times carefully looking for the AMOLED and I don't think it's there in the OTA.
