AMOLED Screen in Pixel. Poor outdoors/sunlight?

I have not read any reviews about outdoor readability of the phone.
Even previous generation phones two or three generatuons even, used Super AMOLED screens that have much less reflection and better readability than AMOLED screens. Noticably I might add.

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that the Pixel does not even use a super AMOLED screen. Can this be true at such a premium price?

I fear the readability of this phone will be quite sub par outdoors.

Anyone have insight on this?

It's a valid concern, until we hear otherwise. My Nexus 6P was supposed to be very good in sunlight but I found it inferior to the Moto XPE IPS display. Not a big deal for me, but it could be for others.

"Super AMOLED" is Samsung's branding for their AMOLED screens with the digitizer integrated. The Pixels don't say "Super" in front because... they're not Samsung phones... but my 2-year old Nexus 6 as an AMOLED screen with the digitizer integrated.

How bright the Pixel screens will be will depend more on the specific panel they sourced.

Would you or anyone, links would be awesome, know if the pixel has the digitizer integrated? This info has not been mentioned in all that I have read.

Thanks for the clarification on the branding of the screen.

It seems to be standard practice upon Nexus and now likely Google phones to incorporate the digitizer. While I can't find information on it, I see no reason why they would skip out on this feature. But like Jeremy said, it's going to come down the panel. Sometimes manufacturers will source panels from multiple providers, so that even among the same model, they aren't equal.
