I heard that the 6p has a Samsung AMOLED screen and the s6 has a Samsung Super AMOLED screen... What's the different? Does the 6p have a cheaper and worse screen than the s6?

It was in another thread from the makers of the phone. It has Samsung's latest AMOLED screens.

Super AMOLED includes the digitizer and the display.
AMOLED includes only the display.

But it has been confirmed tonight that the 6P uses the latest display generation from Samsung

Super AMOLED is the marketing term Samsung uses to describe their screens whose digitizers are bonded to the display. 2014's Nexus 6 had what Samsung would call a Super AMOLED screen (bonded), but since it was being used in another manufacturer's end product, it just wasn't described as 'Super' - and while it was the same type of display, it was not the latest concurrent generation.

As Jeremy says, it is a marketing term that Samsung uses to differentiate its AMOLED technology from the other HW vendors. Every Samsung AMOLED screen has been called "Super AMOLED" since I think the original Galaxy S. Safe to say that ANY phone OEM that sourced its screen from Samsung is using a SuperAMOLED screen, they just don't/can't call it that.

Odd relationship.... Samsung will gladly sell you the screen tech, but might get all pissy if you called it a SuperAMOLED in your promotional materials. But.. there's a LOT of cross polinization going on with these phones, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I wondered about this as well. I remember last year it was said that the Nexus 6 had an older AMOLED screen. When I watched the brief hands-on videos, the 6P screen reminds me of the Note 5 screen, which I hope is the case.

On one hand you could argue that Samsung wouldn't sell their best display to anyone else, on the other hand they have the opportunity to provide the best screens to every phone out there.
