Amon_Ra vs clock

Rom manager flat out tells you that you have to use clockwork to use rom manager.

Hmm.. I remember way back when I first rooted I used RA. When I tried to use rom manager it said I had to use clockwork to use the rom manager functions. Guess they changed it

No dude you're missing my point...

Your able to Flash Different Recoveries thru Rom Manager Regardless of which you have installed...

If you scroll down to the bottom of Rom Manager is says Flash Alternate Recovery

I think theres some confusion going on here ....

To d3xn2o's point, you can use ROM Manager to flash custom recoveries other than clockwork mod.

To Jerzy's point, some of the functions in ROM Manager won't work unless you're using clockwork mod recovery.

Yea thats pretty much it... :p

OP did the Links help or what?

i looked at links and am learning to understand

K kool...

In the AMON Thread the file for the latest Recovery is there...

I haven't read the thread but it should be flashable thru the bootloader / Hboot

Just use clockwork unless you run into major troubles. I do alot of stuff to my Evo with clockwork and it has NEVER failed me. Dont buy into the hype of RA imo, theres no point in using it really.

I use both, personally prefer Ra, but like the convenience of CW with Rom Manager.

Sent from my CM6 powered Evo

The only thing I like about RA better is it's more organized. You go to wipe and everything is there. Not like Clockwork where dalvik is in a whole different section. Not a big deal but just saying... Also I dont like how a lot of times if I hit wipe dalvik cache, it doesn't do anything. It immediately goes to "reboot recovery". I've been told but a lot of people, including Vaelek that it does in fact work. But for someone that isn't too heavy in this crazy stuff I can see why they'd be a little uneasy about using Clockwork.. With that said I use Clockwork lol..

Don't forget RA let's you mount as a USB drive while in recovery. Last I heard clockwork doesn't allow this. That could have changed but if you do any sort of development, this comes in handy WAY more than the average Joe would understand.
