On device speech recognition for G-board on Pixel. I gotta say, it's fast. Latency is almost zero.

You do have to download the AI model onto your Pixel, so ...

Settings > virtual keyboard >G-board> voice typing> fast recognition. That should start the download.

Agreed. It's great to see this type of on device tech. I loaded it last night and have been trying it out today.

I downloaded that. Yeah latency is almost 0. So fast and smooth.

Too bad doesn't work on SwiftKey. Kind of a bummer since is the keyboard I like and using.

I also prefer SwiftKey for typing (split keyboard layout in landscape orientation, which is how I do all my typing; insert predicted word by pressing Space bar) but I think the whole point of this voice recognition is to just replace the keyboard so that you don't even have to bother with it.
I'm just not the kind of person to sit and talk to my phone; I prefer typing as it lets me compose my thoughts. To each his/her own...

Ya, not going to happen. I am at work 10 hours a day. Need privacy while typing. Speaking texts out loud ain't going to do it.
