An app among the home touch buttons?

Is there a way to add another button to the 3 already present at the bottom of every app (back, home, recent apps) ?
What I'd like to do is add a button for the "close it" app there, so I can turn the screen off from within any app without having to go back to the home screen first.

(Yes, I'm aware of the settings under Display/home touch buttons/button combination, but that doesn't seem to let me add a button for an app of my own choice)

( I don't use the power button at the back to turn the screen off, as I expect it to be made from the cheapest possible material and so might malfunction if used often )

You can double tap the status bar to turn the screen off from within the application.

You can also get G3TweaksBox and turn on the feature to double tap a blank space on the nav bar to turn the screen off, which I use all the time.

Settings -> (Device) Lock Screen -> Shortcuts [Customize shortcuts on Lock screen]. You can add two more here, for a total of five.

WOOOPS, did I ever misread that -- sorry!. I think our choices are limited in what we can do with the home touch buttons. It's even more limited in stock android (I would like to have my Android tablet's escape/return/back button on the right side, not the left -- but can't change that without rooting).

Screen off and lock is the app that you need. I just hold down the home button and it puts it to sleep. You can configure it in a couple of different ways but I would definitely look into that, it's a keeper
