An honest review from a fan of the V10

Does QuickMemo+ sync with any note-taking desktop app? Say Evernote, Notes or Keep? I haven't even tried it assuming it wouldn't, which is why I use the mobile Evernote.

I don't believe so, not sure though.

I use Evernote for long term notes, but for random throwaway stuff, i'll probably use QuickNote+

THIS x 1,000,000. Capture+ on second screen = fastest screenshots I've ever taken.

Capture+?? I must have missed this feature. Hmm. I just keep learning more and more this phone will do. Coming from a Samsung Note 3 I thought I would be missing a lot by not choosing the Note 5 but I'm incredibly happy with my V10. Don't miss anything from my Samsung. Plus I don't lose my sdcard slot and removable battery!

when you pull down your Notification shade, up in the quick toggle section, there is a "Capture+" option.

takes a screen shot where you can draw on it or crop or add text, etc. it's awesome

Quick question for any owners: can the second screen control Play Music as well as the stock media player? Cheers.

The screen brightness seems to be an LG quirk - I'm on an LG G4 and have the same problem. Installed Lux which does this perfectly, but unfortunately that break Android Pay and seems to introduce bugginess in answering calls - phone rings, screen dark, etc. Wish LG would fix the native auto brightness.

You can also add a shortcut to capture+ to the navigation softkey area

Setting>display>home touch buttons

I love this phone. The build actually reminds me of BlackBerry phones. The build is solid and feels tough. You don't need to use all metal to have a phone look or feel premium. Just don't cover thethe plastic with 5 layers of gloss like older Samsung phones.

The second screen is no gimmick imo. I can't stand the stupid cards as the recent apps/multitasking switcher. Scrolling through cards to go to previous apps is a time waster. Using the second screen to display the 5 recent apps and just tapping the icon is way faster than using the recent apps button and flipping through cards

My fingerprint scanner is pretty flawless. And my volume/scanner buttons do not wiggle loosely as some other users are reporting in reviews and other forums

Nice write up! Even though I don't own this model, I would feel more comfortable buying one now. My last LG was actually a Vue Plus, but I loved that little guy and had 3 extra batteries.

I had an LG G2 and the GPS was terrible it would take forever to get a signal and would loose it alot. How is the GPS on the V10?

Try YAAB (yet another auto brightness) - it has terrible design, but it works and doesn't cause problems to other apps.

Awesome review I couldnt agree with you more. I never have owned an LG phone and by far I am very satisfied with my phone. The fact that I got an extra battery, charging cradle, and a 200GB SD card was a bonus. Thanks LG!!

the auto brightness doesn't work well, that's correct, that's an area where my Nexus 6 really beat it. However the screen is gorgeous on the V10, and I have found just leaving it set in the mid-60s works for me

today is the first time I used wired headphones with the V10. Nothing fancy, just Amazon Basics on ear, Google Play Music, and wow, it sounds amazing. Hi-Fi DAC is no joke. i need to buy better headphones now

Coming from a Nexus 6, I understand the complaints about loud speaker. But honestly, I've been impressed with the volume and quality of sound from the solitary bottom-mounted speaker on my V10. Usually when I play a YouTube video, I have to turn it down. I rarely if ever listen to music from a cell phone loud speaker.

I miss vanilla Android, but by rooting and removing some bloat and switching to the Google Now Launcher, its bearable. The second screen makes up for it. And the unlocked bootloader opens some development opportunities.

I share your frustrations and love for the fingerprint sensor, and have experienced the same three stooges act unlocking it. Part of it is due to the fact I didn't run a password or pin before, so sometimes I swipe a notification before unlocking with my fingerprint, get confused and start mashing buttons. Basically the same method I've used to play every video game ever.

But the phone is gorgeous. I mean absolutely gorgeous. So sleek. So well built. It matches the black and silver interior of my Z71, and looks like it was meant for the truck. It's heavy, but the weight is a pleasant solid heft, not an outrageous weight. Everything about the look and feel of the phone is just perfect for me.

And I have also been enjoying the camera. Having dabbled in photography with my DSLR I do enjoy the manual mode, but 99% of my photos are taken with auto mode, since they are of my dog and daughter. Neither of whom will sit still while I adjust settings. LOL

All in all a great write up, OP. And a fantastic phone. I love mine more than I thought I would.

GPS has been solid on this phone......I remember having GPS issues on my G2 as well. That was my last LG phone as well.

I also had a G2 with bad GPS. My V10 has not displayed those issues, but i haven't used GPS that much

Does the V10 have some type of reach-ability feature like the Galaxy note 4, where the screen shrinks down for one hand texting etc?
