As much as some people may think we are biased on phones, we all actually have different devices. I've found that the nexus line is the most popular among us, actually.

I would have to chime in here. Yes we have varying devices from GNex, to N4/N7, Galaxy's, HTC's and Notes... We all for the most part have general or above average knowledge of rooting and custom ROMs. I guess you could almost classify many of us as a " Jack of all trade's " sorta speak

Probably those reasons above are why we love moderating here so much. Not only do we do our duties as moderators but we really do love the platform just as much or even more.

The "general rooting knowledge" is me I'm still pretty novice about things, but I'll do my best to help if I can. And if I can't, I'll either try to find the answer or find someone who can answer it

I might as well answer too. I'm currently using a Galaxy Nexus as my personal device (which needs to change), but I use the following on and off (they're primarily used as development devices and I don't always have access to them):

Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, HTC One, HTC One X, Droid RAZR HD/MAXX, Xperia Z, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1​

I certainly have personal and professional preferences and opinions of all the hardware and software in the list above, but that doesn't affect any decisions made here. Even though I don't get a whole lot of personal use out of those devices, I try to familiarize myself with them as much as possible.

Personally I think this whole thing simply blew out of proportion bc select few people felt the need to complain. I've seen plenty of moderators comments and never felt any of them were meant to personally attack anyone. And I actually can't believe this thread is still going.

I don't think there is a need to continue pounding on the same subject since it was what it was and it is what it is now and I am just going to give you my humble opinion. Respecting your opinion I will tell you that what has been you experience apparently is not the same experience of the person that started the thread and in a way I am glad that it was allowed to get out of proportion and I tell you why since I followed the thread from the beginning. I believe there were a lot of hard feelings and misunderstanding about the process involved in the moderation of the posts, and the good thing that came out from this was the a lot of people got to blow steam and got their frustrations out in the open. Lots of things were clarified among the moderators and the people that post here and at the end I believe it ended in amicable way and for that I thankful that this was allowed to continue. Furthermore it brought the big brass out and they got involved thus giving us the opportunity and the knowledge about the chain of command. I believe it ended with no hard feelings from any one.

Not only do they ban you, they close the thread ("This thread has gotten out of hand... no longer constructive... deviated off the original topic... blah, blah, blah..."). In my opinion WPCentral is much worse than AndroidCentral & iMore. I don't do CrackBerry, so no comment there.

You have no idea how picky they are over there. I've had a WP in conjunction with an Android phone since late 2010, and I've been an active member of the WPCentral community. But none of that matters - one small thing and they jump on you.

I posted in a thread about the Lumia 625 asking why the phone even existed and I was starting to get annoyed with Nokia's decisions. That earned me a 15 point "warning" for "trolling". When I created a thread in the proper section of the forum to question what qualifies as "trolling", I got another 50 points for "harassing a moderator" and banned for 3 days.

So I'm pretty much done with their forum over there - to get called a troll for questioning Nokia's thinking is just insane.

Well we have pretty much established you guys rock. Let's bring the other mods here because I have plenty to say about the Windows Phone central mods and something with one iMore mod.
