Anbody considering a Pixel?

I got my OP3 back in 9/23 after decided to give up on the note 7. Saw the pixel announcement on the 4th, and was like Yep definitely keeping the OP3 and waiting for OP4. Well lo and behold, just ordered the pixel xl 128gb black yesterday and eagerly waiting for it to arrive. Lol call me crazy. Once it comes I'll see if my cousin wants to buy the OP3, if not swappa here I come
The struggle is real...

"Just got my Pixel XL, and have been using it for 3 days. And in my opnion ,Oneplus 3 with OOS 3.5.5 is a better phone in terms of build, design, and user experience."

Everything I do on this phone is absolutely instant.

Waking up with the fingerprint sensor? < 0.1 sec
Waking up and taking a picture? < 1 sec
Switching apps? Instant.

I don't know if it's the lack of bloatware or the 6GB of RAM, but after a week of use, I have not in any way found this phone to be lacking in horsepower or capability. I have not experienced lag even once on this phone despite having tons of apps open, switching around, etc. I regret nothing, and I will have software updates long after a phone that costs $350 more has been abandoned.

I hesitate to use the term, "flagship killer", but this phone can certainly hold its own against the latest smartphones... and at roughly half the price. :D

Adding to this, I just realized that I haven't missed having to reboot my phone at least once a day (like my old GS4).

After about 10 days or so of ownership, I have 0 regrets on this purchase. I had an initial hiccup or two, but part of that was my ignorance of stock Android (dialer) and the other was a spontaneous reboot when I moved the alert slider. I cleared the system cache and haven't experienced another reboot since. Nor have I experienced any reboot during navigation usage either.

The screen is bright and crisp to my eyes and easily outdistances the GS4 when I use it for navigation. Battery power has been very impressive too. I don't think I've charged it to 100% but maybe twice or three times since I've had it. I plug it into my Anker car charger and it gets plenty with a 20-30 minute drive to pretty much last me the day and then some.

When I crank the screen brightness as low as it will get and turn off adaptive brightness, I can't really tell any difference between normal and night mode. I've tried sRGB mode a few times and honestly, I can't tell much difference between the two. I do use a pure black background for my home page.

Can anyone else tell the difference? I have the brightness slider at about the 40% position. I can't tell any difference.

Well, to be honest at minimum brightness I would be very surprised if you could tell that night mode was enabled because it's so damn dark... I don't know if it's still effective though.

sRGB is very subtle, there is a difference but unless you're seriously into displays it's also quite hard to tell... After using it for a while I think I prefer it, but with my poor sight it could well be psychosomatic.

You can't tell from those screenshots though, sRGB is a display calibration... Basically those two screenshots are identical and whether sRGB is enabled or not determined how your phone renders them.

That is not the best screenshot to see a difference, but the top screenshot, to me, looks better. The most telling part is in the blues.

Bring the two screenshots into Photoshop and compare them and they are identical other than a difference in notifications at the top.

Basically it is not possible to screenshot the brightness or color saturation of these phones because it is a hardware change in the display circuitry. The output of the video hardware isn't changing.

I ordered a Pixel XL after two Note 7's and a 7 Edge all went back to Verizon...if the Pixel XL 128GB is as meh as many are saying it is I think the 3T is it for me until Samsung gets its **** together. But either way I don't much care either way, I'm okay with either phone. Don't need the first release of a new update in nougat or whatever, I just want a solid phone that won't **** me off with regularity. Truth is until I find my "forever" phone, I'll still be beholden to the Note 7. And I kinda still miss the fact it could explode at any moment.

The Edge...now that's a POS.

I am even though I think it's ugly and over priced. I've watched the reviews and it's the software of course my addiction.

I sold my last two OnePlus 3 (Graphite & Soft Gold) not because I wasn't happy but addicted. I actually think the 1+3 is the best of 2016.

I sold the Soft Gold for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 but now that I got a full refund I'm thinking of going back to OnePlus. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I WENT BACK USUALLY ONCE I UPGRADE I'M DONE.

What's stopping me is the Pixel and I heard rumours OnePlus is release a REFRESH?

I've got the pixel. There's nothing spectacular about this phone except battery life. But if your current battery is working for you, this isn't a problem. The camera on my S7 edge yields better photos especially in low light. The speed difference is indistinguishable. Sd card support. Environmental support, . Wireless charging. I bought an axon7 for thr incredible sound system since im a music lover, and even the axon is a better deal than the pixel.
