You should do that with flashing, generally. That's why I liked creating guides like my Don't Panic one (see below)--sometimes you need a certain level of functional knowledge before traveling down that path.

Oh, and honestly I grew more and more pessimistic about the S4 as I read through the slew of reviews today. The only feature that seems to be undeniably better is camera performance in well-lit places. I've seen the shots and they're amazing. I'm sad that I'm giving that up. But the HTC One also provides something that the S4 probably won't do as well...great sound quality. And I'm not just talking about BoomSound. Through the headphones is what matters to me and apparently the One is unparalleled.

Where it'll really come to play is support. It should get a ton, but as a few CM devs have stated, I think there's hesitancy that wasn't there with the GS3 release.

I have happily contributed to past bounties for developers to support devices and I will do so again and quickly on the S4. The HTC One is nice, I will check it out, I mean you have to at least look at it. But I am pretty set on the GS4, I am not so much looking to get a new ROM, but to remove the friggin bloatware.

Definitely take a look at the One. I was nearly dead set against any HTC phone until I did. It was surprising how much I liked it and really how much HTC has improved Sense. It's ridiculously fluid, fast, sexy, and well implemented on top of Android. Not to say that the S4's TouchWiz isn't, but I read on XDA that leaving the Smart features on takes a large toll on the fluidity of the device which really sort of defeats the purpose of having them considering they're supposed to make the device easier to use. And, yeah, it's shallow of me, but the One is sexy as hell. I'm not a big fan of the button implementation, but I feel like I could get used to it easily. Even when I was trying it out in the store I was getting the hang of it. Anyway, I think the One and S4 are both great smartphones and I'd be happy to see someone with either of them over an iPhone. There doesn't need to be fanboys inside of Android who support specific phones and I don't plan on being one. I just really think that HTC came out ahead this year. That's all. Next year could be completely different.

Still wont consider a One. Heavier, smaller screen, less features, non-removable battery, no sd card-have to have this for movies!!!!

One is in my opinion for the non tech savvy.

I don't think so. I will look at it, its free to look test and play but no decisions until the 32GB arrives, this also gives time for the community to root, remove bloatware and improve on the GS4 & HTC One.

People said the same stuff about iPhones because it is much more user friendly so therefore it's for people that are not tech savy. People say the wildest things sometimes Anyone can make something difficult where only a select few can use it but it takes someone extraordinary to take something difficult and make it so that anyone can use it.

Take it from someone who runs an MIS team and can build complicated databases, write VBA/SQL code and advanced excel skills. But I guess I'm not tech savy because I use a One. I use to have an iPhone so I guess I'm just a dummy
