Android 10?

Since Tony was so brave I downloaded it too.
No issue with download, took about 15 minutes.
So far navigation working well. Like the privacy settings, dark mode, etc.
Too early to see if battery life has changed.
Will report any new findings here.
Please do

The microphone/Google Assistant and Camera shortcuts on the locked screen are gone now.

Uh and the RCS features are back (still dependent of carrier support)...but the section is back in the Messages App settings.

After a full charge and some use, it does seem that the battery is draining faster than usual. With no different usage patterns on my part. Mixed usage at best.

I did disable Android Auto, which had automatically downloaded itself on the phone when I did the OS upgrade.

I also disabled the RCS Chat features once again, due to carrier support they are useless and may also be a source of battery drain if active in the background.

The one app I have to check is Carrier Services. I think that freaking app automatically installed itself on my phone and I don't know if I can stop it or disable it.

Battery life seems the same. I don't notice a significant difference.

Not too bad. But it has definitely dropped. I'd say 5-10% weaker.

At this time of the day, for me, with the exact amount of usage as now, it would have been at 75%. Now it's at 69% instead.

It will take some time to see if the OS settles in terms of battery life.

The gestures are fine, but the fact that you cannot slide out the app menu drawers sucks and it's annoying. Also if you swipe up too far you shut down the app instead of only minimizing the screen.

Going back to the two button navigation for now until some upgrades/fixes to the full gestures navigation.

What do you mean “you can’t slide out the app menu drawer”?

You know how on most apps you swipe left to right and you get the menu drawer, with the settings, help, display and all other tabs.

If you go to the full gestures navigation, now instead of pulling out the app menu drawer, if you swipe left to right you get a back arrow (<) and it takes you to the previous screen or it shuts down/minimizes the app. It's fixed and you cannot change it.

That is annoying...

Gotcha.
I like the two button navigation myself.

I agree with you T. As I said above, I'm sticking with Nova Launcher and the two button nav for now.

As for the battery, so far I have noticed a faster discharge but I'm sure it's down to the fact that, since the upgrade, I've been hammering the phone more than usual checking things out. We will see over the next few days.

Overall, I'm quite happy with 10.

One thing I thought was odd, I now have more free storage than before. I thought it would be less. Maybe it's because the fresh instal has cleared out some dross.

One thing that I find annoying is that you no longer have the battery percentage shown on the lock screen.

So it appears tap and hold brings out the app menu drawer.

I also dislike the fact that the camera and microphone shortcuts are gone from the locked screen as well.

The battery life has taken a hit for me. In about four hours, with moderate use, I lost forty percent of the battery. In the same amount of time with the amount of usage I'd have been down to between 75-70%.

Also... in terms of storage space despite the update of the OS and quite a few apps, never mind all the "cleaning" and deleting I've done...I have lost about 1GB of memory on my device...

I have also noticed that the device is not as smooth as before, in terms of functionality and responsiveness.

So far Android 10 has been a mixed bag.

One thing I should have mentioned earlier, my 10 update came together with the November security patch which I already had. I still haven't received the December patch.

Anyone else noticed this?

Same here. Got the November one. No December security patch. But the Google Play Store...has a separate security patch apparently and that one is for December...🤔
