Android 4.4.1 - Phone Dialer issues

Sideloaded Android 4.4.1 over 4.4 (stock, un-rooted). On pressing the Phone application the options are properly displayed. But on clicking the Dialer button at the bottom center, the dialpad is missing.
You need to press back and click it again for the dialpad to appear.

Anyone else noticed?

just try going to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Phone and clear app data.

That does not help. Issue is persistent on two of my Nexus 4.
