If you are satisfied with your current version there is no need to update.

No do not do this see my post re music/ringtones not working after update kit kat disaster for me

Definitely not. I see no improvement after the update at all and 'Android OS' is now eating up more than 25% of my data allowance in the background with no way to stop it.....other than turning data off completely.
Really wish I could go back.
