Android 6.0.1. Cannot change lock screen wallpaper, help!

I'm running Android 6.0.1 on my rooted LG G3. I'm using Bliss Pop ROM. I'm using Nova Prime Launcher too.

I'm a long time Android user, and this morning I tried themes for the first time. The theme I picked enabled or added a lock screen wallpaper and I want it gone.

I've tried Settings > Bliss Settings > Lock Screen, nothing there.

I've tried Settings > Display & Lights > Wallpaper (under Interface, which incidentally appears twice - WTH?). I go into this (both appearances) and I get a "Choose wallpaper from" and listed is Gallery, Google Now Launcher, Live Wallpapers, Nova Wallpaper, Photos, Themes, Wallpapers and Zedge.

I've tried long pressing a blank area of my home screen, going to Wallpaper, set a new image as wallpaper, but this only changes the home screen wallpaper. Not lock screen.

I've tried going into my Gallery, going tot he image I want to use, Set Image As... but it only sets as home screen wallpaper.

I've been googling like crazy, but everything implies there should be a step or option after selecting the image to pick which wallpaper to set this as (home screen or lock screen), but I don't get this option! :(

I knew there was a reason I avoided themes this whole time! :(((

Hi and welcome to Android Central forums!

When I click on the picture there is a "more" option at the top right, which brings down the menu you see in this picture that says set wallpaper. Yours doesn't have that option? And if not it might be something to do with the ROM you've downloaded.

Nope, mine only has a "Set Wallpaper as..." as an option in that list, and then I get several icon options at the bottom. These are: Nova Wallpaper, Wallpaper (with the Google Photos logo), WhatsApp Profile Photo, Wallpapers (with the Gallery logo) and Contact Photo.

I was able to fix this regardless. I enabled the default theme, then re-set my wallpaper, which applied to both homescreen and lock screen wallpaper. Then I re-set the other theme, but I chose not to let it alter the wallpaper this time. :)

P.S. I tried to post my previous reply with my phone so I could upload screenshots to help show what I'm seeing, but I guess my AC account is not "advanced" enough.

I just got Marshmallow a couple of days ago and decided it was time for new lock screen/home screen wallpapers... after changing it about a dozen times to see how it looked on my home screen I finally decided the lock screen should be a variation so I changed that one last time and went to look and it was my original wallpaper that I've had over a year now. Apparently it wasn't changing any of the dozen times I tried.

Vexed, I then I remembered how many times my problems disappear when I reboot - and voilà... when it came back on, my wallpaper of choice was sitting there on the lock screen. Worth a try!

Rebooting to fix weird things... hrmm... what does that remind me of... oh well never mind - it worked.

Guys, when you open the Wallpaper application, there is a drop down list up the top that has the options 'Home screen', 'Lock screen', & 'Home and lock screens'. The first one is Home screen which is selected by default. Choose either 'Lock screen' or 'Home and lock screens' to change your lock screen wallpaper.

That does solve the theme problem....embarrassingly simple ill admit...thanks for that! Once again Samsung has gone fcktard with their update, messing with everything that was good..it will take months for myself to assimilate to the point where I don't want to shove my phone up a programmers *** sooo far that when he opens his mouth, it lights. . ...

No, it doesn't have Lockscreen as an option on my phone (Nexus 5, custom CM13 rom)

I only have Settings > Display > Wallpaper

And then a list of folders, gallery etc to choose a pic. Nothing relating to the lockscreen at all.

i have downloaded some wallpapers but if select one of those it displays can't load this image. how can i solve this

I had the same confusion on CyanogenOS (OnePlus One).
I finally chose Settings>Lock Screen>Lock Screen Mods>Settings cog for Static Wallpaper
and was able to change the Lock Screen wallpaper from there.

Hope that helps

It's actually quite easy, I also struggled with it for quite some time until I found this...

If you already have the picture you want to set as lock screen wallpaper saved in Photo Gallery, this easy method will work perfectly for you too.
Step 1: Open Google Photo or Photo Gallery on your device. Find the picture you want to set as you lock screen wallpaper.
Step 2: Then tap on the three dots on the top right corner on your device screen and select "Set as" from the drop-down list.
Step 3: It will give you different options, just select "Wallpaper".
Step 4: Once that screen appears, at the bottom of your picture you will see three different icons. The first one on the left is for the lock screen, the middle one is for the home screen and the icon on the right is for both the lock & home screen. Select what screen (or screens) you want and you will be good to go!

Great directions except when I do this I don't get 3 icons at the bottom of the screen. Instead at the top of the screen I get (top left) a check mark that says "set wallpaper" & (top right) a phone icon that lets you see what the wallpaper will look like on your screen with your apps. Any suggestions? Am I just totally missing something? Thanks in advance for any help :)

How to set the Wake up screen or Lock screen wallpaper on Android 6.0.1.

Settings, Display, Wallpaper, Gallery, select the desired photo, at the bottom of the photo will be small phone screen icons with one having a lock, one with a home and one with both lock and home. Choose if you want the photo to be your lock screen, your wallpaper or both by selecting the correct small icon at the bottom of the photo.

It may be that your phone has no way to set the lock screen background to be different from the home screen background.

If I remember correctly, there is no standardized way to do that until android 7.0.
