What's the Update for Android 6.0 - Android M? it is said that Android M release date would be set for October or November.

It will roll out to the Nexus devices (except Nexus 4 i believe) not long after the Nexuses are launched.

Usually November time frame on the new nexus devices, then the old ones get the updates on a rolling basis. Then 4-6 months later the prior years phones will get it (carrier mucking around included).

It really should not be 6.0, since M is still classed as an incremental update.

Lollipop was to Kit Kat just as ICS was to Gingerbread in terms of those being major updates (ICS at 4.0 and Lollipop at 5.0)

I'm hoping that Android M should be 5.5 but I might be totally wrong, let's wait and see.

Really? I was still looking forward to Android 4.5 through 4.9.

Lollipop is major though compared to KitKat over 4.3.

Around the same time the next Nexus comes out.

It's most likely Android 5.2, since it's just a performance update with some new features, like Jelly Bean.

So far it seems we gonna get a 5.2inch and a 5.7inch.

But nothing is set on stone yet it's just rumors... Just wait a few more days and we should get to know all these amazing details.

Plus, we got the Moto X event coming up.
