Hi I have a LG K10 Android 7.0. I am having storage issues. Yesterday I deleted videos and files and managed to get it to go down to 15.67gb. This morning when I get up it is up to 15.82. I wasn't doing anything on it in the night, it was just sitting on my desk. Whatsapp is needing updated and this problem is driving me loopy. Why does storage fill up when I haven't done anything special on it? Thank you.

Got an SD card in it with stuff on it. How do I find out total storage of phone?
From Gemini

Standard Method (Settings Menu)
Open the Settings app.
If the settings are divided into tabs (at the top), tap the General tab.
If there are no tabs, just scroll down.
Tap Storage.
From here, they can see:
Internal Storage: Total space and a breakdown of what’s using it (Apps, Photos, etc.).
SD Card (Portable Storage): This only appears if they have a memory card inserted.
Alternative: Using the File Manager
If they want to see specific files or a quick overview:
Open the Tools folder (usually on the home screen).
Tap File Manager.
Tap All files and then Internal storage.
The available space is often displayed at the bottom or top of this screen.
Pro-tip: The LG K10 typically comes with 16GB of storage, but only about 9.7GB is actually usable because the system software takes up the rest. If they are out of space, moving photos to an SD card is usually the quickest fix!

Hi the total internal storage is 16.00GB. At top is says available 193MB, Apps, 8.78gb, Images 59.66MB, Videos 47.75MB. The videos are on my SD card so shouldn't be affecting internal storage. Audio 528KB, Other 260MB, Cached Data 14.57MB and System Data 6.66Mb. No idea if this info is any use to anyone.

Apps seem to be taking most of your storage. I'm not sure if you can delete some that you might not need...

Moving files and apps to an SD card is a great way to breathe new life into an LG K10, especially since the internal memory is quite small.
Here is exactly how to help them do it:
1. Move Photos and Videos
This is the most effective way to free up space.
Open the File Manager app (usually inside a folder named "Tools").
Tap All files > Internal storage.
Go to the DCIM folder, then tap Camera.
Tap the Menu icon (three dots) at the top right and choose Move.
Select the photos/videos you want to move (or tap Select all).
Tap Move at the bottom, select SD card, and then tap OK.
2. Move Apps
Note: Not all apps can be moved. System apps and those with "widgets" must stay on the internal storage.
Go to Settings > General > Apps.
Tap on an app they've downloaded (like Facebook or a game).
Tap Storage.
If the app supports it, there will be a Change button. Tap it and select SD card.
Tap Move and wait for the process to finish.
3. Set Camera to Save to SD Card Automatically
To prevent the storage from filling up again:
Open the Camera app.
Tap the Settings (gear icon).
Look for the Storage icon. If it looks like a phone, tap it to change it to an SD card icon. Now, every photo they take will go straight to the card.
A quick heads-up: If they move an app to the SD card, that app might run slightly slower than if it were on the internal storage.

So I checked in Storage. I looked at Apps. I've got them on my SD Card, my Facebook, Word Brain Game, Word Trip, Facebook Messenger. There was one photo which I moved to my SD card as well. The storage came down to 15.79.

So what are the apps which take up most of that 8GB?

Sometimes an app like WhatsApp can be moved to SD cards but it will keep it's cashed and running files on main storage. Honestly, I don't know how you've kept that phone running till now. Google and meta apps should and are it appears, eating that 16GB like there's no tomorrow.

It's not my phone but yes minimal internal storage is a pain and I would suggest a larger internal for the next phone upgrade

Chrome is taking up 260MB, Gmail is 12.47MB, Evernote is 122MB, Google Play Store is 156MB, Google Sheets is 166MB and I don't use that. Google is 547MB. I have Quick Memo which is 34.90MB. Google Speech Assist I never use and I delete the data but it still comes back. Just some examples.

That's what's been confusing me because when I look at it it says storage external storage. I will uninstall it and see what happens. I can always access it through Google, I dumped Yahoo App ages ago and just use go through Google to get to it.

Have just uninstalled Facebook Messenger and it has dropped right down to 15.56GB used and Facebook itself and down to 15.32gb. Cannot believe this has been the problem all along. Fingers crossed Whatsapp updates now.
