Android 9.0 pie

Hi. I have the lg stylo 4 with android 8.1.0 and was wondering when i will upgrade to android 9.0 pie.

Did you get it directly from a carrier, or unlocked from LG?

I got mine from metro by tmobile

Ok, and you're still using it on Metro?

EDIT: This article notes that there has been no official word from Metro/T-Mobile about an official Pie update for their Stylo 4. Yes im still on metro. So if i unlock the phone i should get android pie

No, I think it has to do with the variant of the phone. There's a separate unlocked variant. If you carrier-unlock your phone (assuming it's actually carrier-locked to begin with), I doubt that will help.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter if your phone is carrier-unlocked or not. There are different variants of phone that are produced, some specifically for carriers, and others sold directly through LG. Only the one sold directly through LG (without any association with Metro/T-Mobile) is currently getting the update.
