What do you guys know about the auto boost or quick boost option? Does it help? Should I use it?

I use Android Assistant because if I use Task Manager to report the OS CPU percentage, it is very inaccurate. I use quick boost from time to time and while I can't claim to notice any obvious benefit, I have seen nothing detrimental happen.
