Android Auto does not work, how can I fix it?

Android Auto does not work

Plug phone in and no connection. Have Lollipop 5.1 app is installed. Get accepted cars none, rejected cars none. The one button does nothing.

Ok. What phone? What head unit? Did you make sure the usb settings isn't set to charge only or something?

2017 Ford Escape with SE Technology Package. Phone LG Rebel LTE. Have to check USB settings.

Had to update head unit. Use phone supplied cable. Now have Android Auto.

Plug in phone and not connecting every time. What are the steps for connecting phone?

I plug in after the display powers up. If I plug in when the car is off it doesn't seem to see AA.

Still problems . Reset head unit, boot phone, deleted apps for more storage. Worked 3 times.

Get message cannot sync android auto check device settings. What setting do I set?

Have to boot phone so android auto will sync.
