Android auto behaves differently on different cars.

Issue,
In my 2017 accord, using Android Auto can only be used on my car's touchscreen, but my Galaxy S8 is just stuck on the green Android Auto loading screen.

So.... a couple weeks ago I used android auto on a Buick Envision and I was able to to use Android Auto with the full mobile enhanced screen on my phone and the same screen on the car.

So I'm stuck with the car's touchscreen...

Any ideas?

Thanks

That's how it suppose to be. The phone should be useless and tucked away once connected. Not sure how to get Buick Envision to work differently. Maybe you are using a screen casting instead of Android Auto.

When not connected to Android Auto Head Unit, AA app is fully functional on the phone. Once connected, the AA app on phone should be stuck on an AA icon screen and not functional on the phone itself. You will have to interact with AA totally on the car screen. Some brands don't even use touch screen (I know MB and Audi are this way).
