AC Question
Like many others I cannot get Android auto to work on my car's built in screen. I have a Pioneer 8200nex. I bought it in large part because of its ability to use Android Auto. I am aware that pioneer has put out information saying they know certain USB type C phones do not work properly but it doesn't appear to be my issue. I had a Samsung s7 edge before and it did the same thing. I have also found that if I go to the USB settings in the pulldown menu and switch it to MIDI it temporarily tried to open Android auto on the screen but it freezes and comes to a screen saying check your phone. In that instant it has already auto switched back to USB charging instead of MIDI. Can I force it to MIDI and override what the app or radio is doing? Does anyone have another solution? I have already updated the firmware on the radio to the latest. As well as the Bluetooth software. Neither fixed it. It just makes me mad because everything worked fine before Android auto teased the update to make it work on the phone screen. It is clearly something to do with the update Android auto released but they won't even acknowledge it. I have posted more than 10 times in the AA forum and I don't even get a sorry or any response at all. Almost like they are dodging the question. Any help would be much appreciated. Right now I have a 1500$ radio that doesn't work the way it should.
