Android Central redesign!

Questions/discussions about new forum features, including ranks, the activity meter, and user titles are in this thread. All of this went into affect at the same time as the site redesign, but isn't related.

Also, the font in the message editor has been fixed to be the same size and font regardless of which browser you are using. I know some of you were having trouble seeing what you were typing with FireFox in particular.

Maybe it's just me, but I found it a bit harder to scroll down and find the tablet forums. But overall, a nice clean look!

I must be in the minority. I find it much more difficult to navigate and find what I want. Where is the Help page for the site? How do you subscribe to threads/forums? How do you keep up with threads of interest? I have been interested in following threads about the Xoom and now I have to scroll and scroll to get back to the Device link. I just don't like it, but maybe I just can't figure it out.

Please put back the forum jump menu at the bottom of every page. Its a pain to navigate through the various forums without it. Thanks

None of this changed. The subscribe thread option is in the thread tools pulldown and the subscribe forum option is in the forum tools pulldown at the top of each.

The scrolling part I'm unclear on.

If you aren't interested in a particular section of the forum you can collapse it:

On the old site, I would click on forums and then the Xoom icon at the top of the page to take me to the Xoom threads with stickies and then most recent posts. On the new site, it is harder to get to the device forum of choice. When opening the site, I click foums. Then I have to scroll through Android Chat, Motorola Android Phones, etc. to get to Android tablets and then Motorola Xoom. I like the look a lot and will get used to it. It just seems to take longer to find what I want.

The rating system for stories on the main site is cool but the explanation for what each star means aka spam, down, up is covered by the cursor. Just a aesthetic thing I guess

Loving the redesign myself. It's always a good sight to see a fresh design to keep the site feeling new. More so when it's a positive change and things are arrange in such a way that makes access to information easy - for me at least

The new design looks great, but I miss the "Jump to forum" link at the bottom of the thread view of messages. It made it easier to get back to the parent forum of the thread and see the updated list of threads with unread messages, instead of hitting back and refresh or scrolling to the top and clicking in the "breadcrumbs".

One thing I miss in the forums is the dropdown list that used to sit at the bottom-right of every thread. I used it all the time to bounce around the forum. That feature was much quicker to use than scrolling back up to the top of the page to click a link each time.

Any chance we could have that dropdown menu back? Thank you.

Not the full forum jump menu yet, but you'll notice I added hyper linking to the bottom of each thread that allows you to jump backwards, just like you can above the threads/forums at the top. This prevents having to have to scroll all the way back up to have to do this.

the forum jump menu is quicker in getting exactly where you wanna go, but I appreciate the breadcrumb links at least.
