Android Central Question

On almost every site I visit (including this one) within 5 mins I am redirected (without clicking anything) to these god awful full screen fake virus ads that you can not back out of (sends you in a loop). How do I stop this?
I would include a screen shot, but no options to.
Can anyone tell me how to stop this? I don't see a option to block websites in settings.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you give other examples of sites where you get the popups? There are many "legitimate" sites that still have annoying redirects or popups, but if this is also happening on sites like CNN.com or NYTimes.com, that's not normal.

Open Chrome, tap Menu>Settings>Privacy, and clear all browsing data "from the beginning of time." Do the same on your desktop Chrome browser as well (on your computer). Also, go to Settings>Apps (in the phone's system settings), select Chrome, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Does the problem persist?

It happens on just about every "forum" page I use (including this one). The only work around I have found is after the pages loads is to immediately put the phone in airplane mode then read/respond.
I will try your suggestion tonight. Thank you. (sorry I don't really visit news sites so I don't know if it happens on them)
