Android Device Manager - Work Profile?

It's pretty rare that I go into ADM, so this is probably a really old thing, but my Tab 4 (and my Note 8) shows up twice in ADM. What is Work Profile? What's the difference between the two? Can I delete the work profile?

No idea, never saw that before on my devices and I just checked.

I did use the erase function when I left my Tab on the plane. When I got the Tab back I deleted the app and turned off what I thought was the Admin setting but it still erased.

Through some googling I learned that the work profile is something set up by employers. I guess it creates a seperate profile or account on your device and is intended to allow people to keep their personal and business related accounts in seperate environments. Makes sense. But my devices are strictly personal. I don't even have my work email synced to them.

What's kind of funny is that on my Note 8 shows 2 distinctly different results in ADM. My "phone" shows very specific location, zoomed in on the map and reports it's last location as "last seen in my hand." The work profile gives a less specific location, map zoomed out showing an approximate location and a "last seen X minutes ago."

I dunno...it's probably just a glitch and doesn't have any actual impact on anything and I should probably let it go. Obviously, I'm going to obsess over this.
