Android Device Manager

You wouldn't perchance have an Android emulator, something like BlueStacks, installed on a PC and configured to download apps from Google Play, would you? What you describe is exactly my situation and it turned out to be caused by BlueStacks installed on my PC. Evidently the emulator is coded to look like a Samsung phone when logged in to Google.

That's it, thanks! It was around that time that I tried an Android emulator on my PC.

Personally I like Where's My Droid, paid version, better. You can do more things with it, you can stop it from being uninstalled and it is very accurate. It also has a setting where you can find your phone if you laid it down where you are and it is on silent. You can make it ring a custom ringtone you download, that is very loud, for 10 mins, overriding a silent phone. You can also set it to send a signal flare to your email for location, any time the battery gets down to a specific percentage number, so you can know where it was at say 5%. WMD also does more than the iPhone find app does. I don't remember the cost, I have used it for about 7 years now, but it isn't expensive.

I recently discovered ADM myself. I was actually considering an iPhone 6 or Plus over the Note 4 because of how great Find My iPhone worked. Glad I found ADM!

It's funny how stuff that Apple advertises and touts, Android just quietly has all the same stuff (and more).

Ahhhhh that explains it! same thing happened to me... Thanks. I thought I was being hacked.....
