Android Device Manager

I have ADM listed as an admin under security. If I go to ADM on my computer my device is listed. I can make it ring. But cannot locate phone. It is not lost just testing it. ADM claims I haven't been connected for 2 days but I am obviously connected posting this and the ring my phone ADM function works fine.
I also tried the findmysamsung device website with the same result. Says my phone not connected. It actually shows 2 note 3 there perhaps because I got a replacement in october yet samsung site says neither are connected. If my phone is ever lost this would be a crucial function to have. I don't trust any app on the app store with my info so I would rather use ADM or findmysamsungdevice. Of course neither vzw nor samsung will help me. Can you?

Silly question but do you have location turned on and allowed to be shared with the different programs?

Yup...I installed ADM app on my phone and now it works. Where is my samsung still doesn't work though
