That is one nasty site. I guess they don't know what freedom of speech is over there. Well this site IS better, Its Moderated 1000X better for sure and Threads are not moved and merged so many times that you can no longer find them. They suck.

Take a look.

I wonder.... - Android Forums

What does freedom of speech have to do with internet forums?

While I do agree this is the best Android site out there, it is rude and improper to advertise another site on another site.

I mean if you came into my home and told me how much better your home is than mine, I would probably kick you out.

Android Central FTW!!!!!!!!!

With all due respect, this has nothing to do with the EVO. Moving to the general chat forum ;)

Also, thanks for showing your support for the Android Central forums, but in their defense, modding and keeping the forum organized isn't the easiest of volunteer jobs. There is such a thing as over moderation, and we try not to do it, but we can't make everyone happy. I recognize people hate having their threads moved, so I try not to do it too often, but if there's a topic that I think will benefit a wider audience or if it's more appropriate in a different forum, it will get moved. Apps and 4G coverage threads are good examples of that.

Anyway, when you're not happy, just PM one of us like the guy in post #12 of that thread said :)

Go over to there Evo section and take a look, every other post is moved or merged somewhere to the point you can no longer find where they are. They are a model of how not to run an internet forum. If you happen to express your displeasure with what they are doing they put you on probation or ban you its just awful. Its a terrible forum.

It's also their right to run it how they want. I've posted links to articles and threads on Android Central on their site and never been called on it. But I can understand that they don't like being insulted.

Both forums offer lots of useful information. I try to be polite (well, most of the time) on all the forums I frequent.

Pretty funny that a thread complaining about another forum moving threads around gets moved as well.

Really, if you want to control how a forum runs, you should volunteer to be a moderator or start your own. If you don't like one, just don't use it. There are plenty of choices. I use this one and the "other" one because I mostly find that people are helpful and informative. The moderation doesn't bother me in the slightest. I run an online community myself so I know how it goes.

Here's a tip for you. If you're not sure where a thread is that you posted in, you can always go to your user statistics and get to all of your own posts.

i used to admin a board, so i understand it can be a pita, but at the same time, they don't need to move and merge every single thread. it's ok if the same topic comes up in a new thread from time to time

oh well, whatever. i won't be going back....

hopefully this forum is better....time will tell.
