Android hard to wake up

This is my first Android so if I don't know all the terminology I apologize. I have an S7 with Nougat. At times, frustrating, the phone goes to sleep and takes 15-20 seconds of pushing buttons to get it to wake up. It happens when many apps are open but can't say which ones. Is this something that anyone else has experienced? I've seen other times it was happening but that was as while back with a different build.

should just turn on when you press the home or power button. May require a password or some kind of unlock method.

I got an S7 Edge and that never happened to me ever. How long have you had the phone?

I've tried both power and home buttons, combination of both, fingerprint, anything I can think of. Happens a few times a day. Started about a month ago. I've had it since early this year, right after v7 was released. I will get specifics when it does it, what apps are active, what state the app is in, etc.

Probably something got wonky after updating. Have you done a factory reset since the update?
