Yeah, I agree that in this specific case, it'd be helpful. It's probably a situation where the engineers figure it should run normally, and don't consider the possibility that it might get hung up on it (since there probably countless other situations that they'd also have to think about). The fact that it is a relatively common problem doesn't always register with them, unless perhaps all of these people also deluge Google using the Feedback feature (which might be a better way to get the message directly to them).
I wonder if there's some Developer Option that might show what's going on in the system when the app is optimizing. I would guess not, since that option probably only works after the system has completely booted.
