Android is starting ... Optimizing app

[Android Central Question]

Every time I turn on my G4 after it shuts down, a black screen pops up saying that "android is starting ... optimizing app 1 of 1. It does it every time, whether or not it is plugged in. This screen stays up for about 10 minutes, so it takes awhile for it to finally power up. Whats going on?

Welcome to Android Central! I've been seeing a number of threads mentioning that this could be due to the Zedge app. Uninstall it, if you have it on your phone.
