android launcher update required

[AC Question]

message on my new galaxy s6 ( 1 week) reads: due to lastest report hacking event targeting Samsung SM-G920I Android phone, we released a Launcher update and it is required for every android phone. If you do not upgrade your phone will be locked within 1 day.
Is this a real thing or not and how do i get it off my phone

You guys could downloading VPN apps. Or setup vpn server info in your settings. That way they cant get your ip address since be masked

Update. The thing is definitely a scam. I checked in update software now under settings--software&update. It says mine is the latest version. Also android phones dont come with an automatic cleaner. It has to be done manually
